Join HSITP for a great double pointed FINAL SHOW OF 2025 Canterbury’s show in Newberry FL, just west of Gainesville. If traveling north on I-75, it’s west at the SR26 exit, or if coming from Ocala – it’s sometimes easier to come north on US 27/441 which puts you right in the heart of Newberry– and the showgrounds is about a mile to the East ….
Circuit Series end awards will be distributed on Sunday as the divisions finish to those riders who have shown at Canterbury at least 4 times during the show year and placecd 1-6 in their division.
HSITP runs 3 arenas and offers over 30 divisions from schooling hunters to working hunters, ground pole jumpers to 3’6″, and our novice arena hums with all levels of novice oopportunity from our popular walk division to walk trot and novicc crossrails… we are the only local show that offers our novice riders placings and ribbons out to 10th place so there’s sure to be lots of recognition of our riders accomplishments….(and our ribbons and awards are known as the best!!)
HSITP fences are all of good quality and well decorated with just the right amount of fill and ambiance for the developing horse and rider…Lighting is outstanding, the stalls are close to the arenas and golf carts are not required at this venue! Ship ins can park right next to the jumper arena, and the show charges ONLY $20 per horse for ship ins…and provides wash racks and ample schooling areas too!
Stalls are large, well constructed, rubber matted and have large concrete aisles,, The 5 barns face each other over grassy areas and lighting/power in the barns is excellent. The show office is located at the East end of the Covered arena and opens at 10 on Friday for check in prior to schooling on Friday which is noon until 6 pm.
Our HSITP Canterbury shows are their own Circuit Series of shows with 4 show weekends (8 show days) available – in January, March, May and September. Your can easily show just one day or both, as we have daily high points, except for Jumpers which are over 2 days…Circuit end awards will be provided on Sunday September 21 as the divisions each finish and will award Grand, Reserve through 6th place to those riders who have attneded a total of 4 out of the 8 show days available on the circuit. The Canterbury shows points will also count for our Grand Oaks rider’s Grand Oaks year end awards. Points for both circuits are generally posted on the Standings page within the first week after each show.
They’ve built a number of new hotels in the SR26 or SR24 areas off I-75, and one we like the most is the new LaQuinta at SR 26 and I-75. there’s also the Best Western Gateway Grand as well which is a bit closer. We’ve found many riders and families now go to the RV rental websites like Outdoorsy and rent RV’s to be delivered to the showgrounds which is very convenient! There are good restaraunts nearby from top quality sushi to BBQ as well as a new California grill right around the corner….(and check out the wonderful take out breakfast from Hitchcocks grocery store a 1/2 mile away from the showgrounds….
The RV area is right across from the barns and covered washracks, and has both 30 and 50 amp hookups. There is no sewer or pump out station at Canterbury. and the sites are high and dry. When you arrive the site’s breaker boxes will be locked but…but you can pick your site and come to the show office or just call 321-693-5551 and show staff will come unlock it.
If you have any questions about the show, the divisions or class specifications listed on the schedules, please don’t hesitate to call or text us at 321-693-5551. Come find out how much fun, relaxing and rewarding a horse show can be at such a well laid out exhibitor friendly facility…!!
