Horse Shows in the Park Championship Wonderful Championship Prizes and Ribbons for this show!!!
Open Non- Qualifying Divisions and Marshall & Sterling Added to Saturday's competition
Don't forget the upcoming Championship Hunter/Jumper show at Canterbury's Equestrian Showplace in Newberry FL - this weekend!! If you shown with us and placed in 2008 there's a place for you at this show -- and if you haven't we've added a number of "open" opportunities so you can see what we're all about.... The pre-entry deadline has been extended for this important show, until Wednesday evening - please also check the show notes below and on the left of this column....Pre-enter now at www.horseshowsinthepark.com ! All classes fully pointed for 2008 year end awards. Show Highlights - Points earned count for year end awards and points will be tallied, finalized and posted at the show after each division. Shortened format will allow for 2 jumping efforts per division (including a schooling round) and a flat or under saddle class with a hack off at the judges discretion in case of tie. All classes except forJumper to be in the Main arena. Special Championship ribbons for all placings will be provided for this show and each class winner will receive a custom award..as well as High Point and Reserve winners. (and yes, they'll be some goodies from Frederique of Middleburg VA for some winners as well as wonderful items from Tenny's Custom Saddlery and our artist Jennifer Uher!!!)
Schooling rounds are available at each fence height in the show (both hunters and jumpers) for our competitors to "warm up with" and get ready for the Championship Classes, and for those who'd like to come and experience the HSITP's lovely fences, get ready for the new show year and may not have qualified. All schooling rounds are $12.00 and are available in both the hunter, novice and jumper divisions.
Open non-championship divisions (with non-championship High Point and Reserve opportunity) -- at 2', 2'3" and at 2'6" have also been added in case there are folks who would like to show with us this weekend, but haven't quallified at those fence heights - as well as for those riders seeking to "move up" into the main arena or a fence height and get ready for the new year..
Also upon request of a number of exhibitors, we will also offer the Marshall & Sterling Bit O Straw, Pony Medal and Child's/Adult Medal for riders who may be concerned about missing out on a Marshall & Sterling points opportunity by attending this show - and entries may be added at $20 per class in the show office upon check in for these classes.
The Hunter Derby will be on the outside course on Sunday starting at 1pm. The jumps will be HSITP's jumps (not Canterbury's) and will encompass a gallopy course out over the cross country areas. Great fun, good practice and an excellent opportunity to get the horse out of the ring and over some safe jumping opportunities...
No need to qualify for the Nutt Memorial Hunter Challenge out on the hunt field, or for the $250 Jumper Classics - and open schooling rounds at any fence height are available in the Jumper Ring as well on Sunday for only $12.00. Our judge Kristin Freeman-Lowry "R" will once again also offer an in-gate clinic at 8:15 a.m. on Sunday to any interested jumper exhibitor.
All in all - a very fun show with fabulous prizes and something cool to do for everyone!
As Always… Eyes and Ears UP!
