Horse Shows in the Park July Show Largest in Show's History!!
Not even the heat of a Florida hot July could daunt the HSITP exhibitors and their families - as all came out to ride, have fun and show off their Hawaiian best during Horse Shows in the Park's Hawaiian Hunter Jumper show at Newberry's Canterbury Equestrian Showplace July 19th and 20th.... all the stalls were full and over 180 horses/ponies and their riders competed for double the points in 4 arenas over the 2 days - ...The addition of the 4th "Show As You Please" arena was a success - and enabled the show to conclude in all arenas by 5pm Sunday - which gives us a viable option to use in the future...The misters over at Arena 4 and the Grass arena proved quite popular and helped keep the heat down. Jeanne appeared to especially enjoy turning them on full blast, drenching her team mate Denise.... :) We also congratulate Pony Paddock - winner of the Best Decorated Hawaiian Theme Stall/Barn Contest - and runner-up Archer Farms.. pictures will be posted on this website as soon as they arrive from the photographer!!. The barbeque on Saturday night was also a huge success, as exhibitors got to enjoy the best of Newberry's Backyard Barbeque in the air conditioned clubhouse. Congratulations to our AHJF Junior Hunter Challenge Winners - Andie Dowd of Mardebri Manor/Longwood Florida - and Sarah Brumbaugh, of Crossrails Riding Academy/Clermont! More winners during the weekend included the winners of the Marshall & Sterling's Bit-O-Straw Hunter Classic - Blair Copley, of Full Partners Farm/Newberry on Saturday and Ashlee Rioux of Canterdown Farms/New Smyrna Beach. The EMR Equitation and Hunter Challenges awarded the blues to Sara Brown, Taylor Johnson of Pony Paddock/High Springs and Kasey Blore of Crossrails Riding Academy/Clermont... Horse Shows in the Park extended a warm welcome over the weekend to new Georgia based competitors Foxwater Farms and The Robbins Nest as well as a number of new competitors from the Jacksonville and Tallahassee areas - so the word must be getting out in neighboring states about Horse Shows in the Park!!

We thank these sponsors, as they are helping us provide an even more meaningful way to provide a wonderful recognition of our riders and horses hard work during the year - Look for their banners at each horse show this Fall, and for our Platinum sponsors to present their year end awards at the Year End Banquet in Ocala on December the 6th this year!!
Our next event on the horizon will be Melbourne's Wickham Park Hunter Schooling Show Series on September 6 - we've updated the program and included Marshall & Sterling classes this Fall - and in September most excitedly of all - our newest USEF/USDF Recognized Dressage show on September 20,21 in Newberry Florida at Canterbury's Equestrian Showplace. The Prize List is now out on this website - and plans are set in motion for this prestigious addition to our show calendar...From Introductory level to Grand Prix - managed by Gayle Witty - the September 20,21 Dressage show is sure to take it's place on everyone's calendar this year and years to follow . No detail too small, from the moment of arrival - Horse Shows in the Park promises the Dressage competitor a horse show experience to set the highest standard for Central and North Florida Dressage competition...
During these hot months, remember to allow for lots of rest and water breaks for both you and your equine partner - and as always -
